Get to Know Us
The Fidela Foundation was formed by Umugwaneza Marie Fidela along with her husband Fidele Muhire. Together, this woman-centric foundation combines the spirit of innovative Rwandan female entrepreneurship along with the goal of training and empowering local women through teaching them useful artisan skills, specifically in the field of hand-made shoe manufacturing - one work of artisan shoe creation
at a time.

Sponsor an apprentice
Our community-based approach in Ruhengeri, Rwanda provides sustainable skills that furnish an apprentice-based profession for predominately young women who will benefit both financially and socially by learning a culturally important craft that can also advance economic development for the community at large.
Local entrepreneurship with a social conscience is the Rwandan way. Financial sponsorships of our trainees and advanced craftspersons are welcome from NGOs, individuals and corporations. Handmade shoes are not simply the business of the Fidela Foundation, they are the actual foundation of a better life for the bright, dedicated and hard-working women of today's generation of Rwandans.
Please become a partner in forming the best Rwanda we can imagine.
